carefully screened for content, and will pertain to headaches. We feel strongly that advertising deters from your experience,
and detracts from the value of a health promotion site. We would prefer to offer a high-quality site with minimal advertising.

Erase This View and Start Over
Try out the headache drawing process!
(This demo limits drawing area to the
right side of the head, head view is Front View only, Save function disabled.)
Members can save their drawings to our server (which also stores the date and
time of the drawing), and have 5 views to draw on, shown here in miniature:
For most browsers, including Internet Explorer, please use the LEFT mouse
button both to select your drawing color and to draw.
FireFox/Mozilla users
please use the LEFT mouse button to select your drawing color, and the RIGHT mouse button to draw.
To start painting on the head, click on one of the 5 color squares to choose the intensity level of your pain. Move the mouse over
the head
to the area where you want to paint. Start painting by holding the left (right for Firefox/Mozilla) mouse button down and
dragging. Stop painting by releasing the mouse button. You can change the intensity color at any time by clicking on a different
color, and you can paint varying colors to indicate differing intensities.
If you want to erase some color from the head, click on the blank square "Erase" and paint over the region you wish to
erase. To erase the entire rendering and
start over, click on "Erase This View and Start Over."
Note For Touchpad users: Hover over the color and click. Move pointer over head. When you're ready to paint, hold the left
(right for Firefox/Mozilla) click button down while sliding on the touchpad. Then go get your next color, and repeat. Continue
in this manner until you are done.
On the Members' pages, you will have the option to print the heads in 4 different styles: Full Color Full Size, Full Color Half
Size, Black and White Full Size, and Black and White Half Size. Here are some examples (miniaturized here for space.)
How can a Headache Diary help you?
Sometimes we don’t really want to look at exactly how frequent or severe our headaches are, or we don’t keep track
because our lives are busy. Tracking headaches can help find patterns by noting under what circumstances your headaches
occur. This helps you to reduce attacks and can lead to a definitive headache diagnosis.
Keeping a detailed headache diary helps you and your doctor find things that trigger headaches and helps you avoid
circumstances that increase your susceptibility. Tracking diet, environmental factors, medication use, activity,
exercise, sleep, and weather can determine what lifestyle changes or other alterations might lower your personal threshold for
headache or migraine.
Tracking your triggers will enable you to target the specific conditions that predispose you to developing headaches and
minimize those where possible, empowering you to develop the life skills you need to reduce headache frequency and severity,
and enhance your quality of life. Don’t let headaches dominate your life. Take charge and learn how to gain
control by learning how to manage your headaches.

How Does It Work?
You select each head view corresponding to the area of your head pain. You will then be able to
paint your area and level of pain, as shown above. Headache date and time will be recorded so you can view the data in the future,
and you can record the duration of your headache. Your data is stored safely on our server, and is available for review over any
date range. This drawing process is unique in the industry, and was developed with great care and attention to detail so you can
easily see for yourself and communicate to health care professionals, the trends and changes in your headache pain as you work
with medications and changes in lifestyle to lessen the impact of the headache triggers specific to your own situation.
You can also select and record factors, such as food, visual, odor, sound, miscellaneous, travel,
and weather triggers as shown above, and emotion related and life-style triggers (changes in sleep patterns, skipping meals, or
stress.) You can record medications you are taking, plus medications taken for each headache, from a drop-down menu listing over
6300 medications. Pain descriptors, prodrome and aura symptoms, warning period before headache began, relief experienced, other
medications, 45 additional symptoms (e.g., nasal stuffiness, droopy eyelid, blurred vision) will also be recorded. A free-form
entry area is provided to record anything else you find significant for that attack. A reference to all the Headache Info
available on the site will be available for quick access as a menu on the left side of each page. You can print this diary to
take to your health care provider.
