Gastrointestinal
One of the major neurotransmitters of migraine is a brain chemical called serotonin. But did you know that less than 5% of your body’s total serotonin is in your brain? Most of it is actually in the gastrointestinal tract. It should probably be no surprise that there are gastrointestinal disorders associated with migraine.
Irritable bowel syndrome, celiac disease, and gluten sensitivity and intolerance are all more common in migraine sufferers.
