The Oregon Headache Clinic was formed by Dr. Christina Peterson, a physician specializing in neurology for over twenty years, who has treated thousands of patients with headache pain. Dr. Peterson has experienced the pain of migraine herself and has, through her own deep experience and study, developed a thorough understanding of the tools needed to conquer this suffering. This personal experience gives Dr. Peterson a unique perspective on the management of headaches. She believes in patient participation over patient passivity; informing and involving patients is the first step to true wellness.

Dr. Peterson is the author of "The Women's Migraine Survival Guide", published by HarperPerennial, and "Differential Diagnosis of Headache", published in Chiropractic Management of Spine-Related Disorders. She speaks frequently on the subject of migraine and other headaches to hospitals, employers, physicians, and nurses. Dr. Peterson is often asked to consult on the subject of headaches and migraines in a variety of business and clinical settings. She has published on the subject professionally, and is a reviewer for the journal, Headache.

Dr. Peterson is a member of the National Headache Foundation, the American Council for Headache Education,
the American Headache Society, the International HeadacheSociety, and the American Academy of Neurology.

Dr. Peterson was initially educated as an R.N., and worked for seven years as a critical care nurse in Southern California while completing pre-medical studies at UCLA and California State University at Long Beach. She attended medical school at the University of Southern California, graduating in 1982, and completed a general medicine internship at the Huntington Memorial Hospital in Pasadena, CA. She received her neurology training at the Oregon Health Sciences University in Portland, Oregon.
